About Eva M Clark
I am Eva (pronounced like evolution) M. Clark. I am a medical hypnotherapist and work with chronic disease and trauma. I have a private practice in Santa Cruz, California as well as online, and train other therapists on how to work with chronic disease. Additionally, I write and lecture on the mind-body connection and its influence on our health.
“Eva used multiple mind- body techniques including guided imagery, visualizations, meditation, individualized tapes and various NLP therapies to help me gain a new awareness. She never told me what to do to improve my life. With thoughtful questions she took me inward so I could find my own answers. As we re-examined my most painful life experiences, I learned that they could be seen as wonderful learning opportunities. The answers were there inside me, I just needed help finding the key to unlock them.” – LP, Monterey
The reason for working with the mind-body connection is to help empower people. I know that inside of each of us are all the answers to all the problems that are present in our lives. By eliminating feelings of helplessness and victimization (“this happened to me, and there is nothing I can do about it”), building life-coping skills, and resolving old trauma, each of us is capable of turning our problems around and restoring health.
My goals are empowerment, healthy life & coping skills, and self-responsibility.
“Eva has guided me through internal journeys that continue to help me experience the potential of my mental and physical well-being. Among the changes I have seen since working with Eva, I have let go of destructive behaviors, wake up earlier, sleep better, am consistently getting stronger, have eliminated an allergy, and even have improved my golf game! Years of psychotherapy never helped me this much!” – SB, Santa Cruz
My Private Practice
Most of what I write and lecture about is on the use of mind-based therapies with chronic disease, especially irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and multiple sclerosis (MS). I also teach other practitioners how to work with chronic disease so that they don’t just help their clients manage symptoms but address the underlying issues that caused the body to become ill. You can find more information on using mind-based therapies as well as get support for MS at www.healingmultiplesclerosis.com and training for hypnotherapists, NLP practitioners, and psychotherapists at www.mindbasedhealing.org. This website, evamclark.com, was created to help you understand what I treat (and how) in my private practice.
